And there was in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,keeping watch over their flock by night.And the Angel of the Lord came upon them,and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid.And the angel said unto them,Fear Not,For behold I bring you good tidings of great joy,which shall be to all people.For unto you is born today in the City of David a Sviour,Which is Christ the Lord.
The sit althouth not localized by the Gospel,tradition has fixed it in a field about 3 km east of Bethlehem,known today by the name "The Shepherd's Field."
The Church of the Shepherds was rebuilt in 1953 on the ruins of an old monastery of the IV-VI Century.
