Three Round Table conferences were held in London during the period 1930-32, to resolve the Indian constitutional problem. But, the Hindu and Muslim leaders invited to these conferences, could not draw up an agreed formula.

Elections were held in 1937 and the Muslim League could not win a majority of Muslim seats since it had not been effectively organized.
